A unit of the Daughters of Charity health service and charitable trust
The hospital was inaugurated on 22nd April 2006. It belongs to the congregation of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul whose founders are -St. Vincent de Paul & St. Louise de Marillac. The congregation was started in the year 1633 in France for the service of the poor. In the 17th Centaury it was unheard that a religious sister coming out of their cloister or monastery and rendering service in the streets of Paris. According to the inspirations of our founders, the Daughters of Charity needed to be out in the streets, taking care of the sick poor, reaching out to their homes, taking care of the wounded soldiers and taking care of the galley slaves etc.

The Long que of the patients for registration
Registration was done by manually and it was taking time
Year 2014
A new block was constructed for the registration of the patients and a waiting area, where patients can be seated while waiting for their turn to register
Year 2015
We also installed Hospital software in order to make the work easy and fast and also introduced an advanced booking system for patient visit in order to avoid the long queue.
Year 2017
The year 2017 completed the 1st floor of the hospital: At this time the hospital obtained a license for 40 beds Nursing Home, under the West Bengal Clinical Establishment Act 1950. The patients strength increased to a daily average OPD attendance about 200-250 out patients and 30-35 indoor patients. Our hospital has well settled ICU, well furnished Operation Theatre for general and laparoscopic surgeries, Orthopaedic surgeries, Gynaecological surgeries, ENT surgeries etc. We also developed eye and dental departments.
Hospital’s Pioneers
In the beginning we started with OPD Patients and the health centre had only the basic facilities such as a small clinical laboratory, X-ray, ultrasonography and Pharmacy and we had several visiting doctors. Year 2011 Dr. Sushil K. Chacko joined the hospital as Resident Medical Officer and developed the hospital and it became popular near and far and the people of the locality nick named it “Vellore Hospital”. Slowly hospital started to develop with the help of many benefactors and the patients number increased.
